Choosing new gaming Graphics card for old PC -- Advice needed please

Hi,

My Nvidia Geforce GTI 1070 graphics card has finally died on me, so I need to get myself a replacement. I would like to get a card that's more up-to-date to play modern games such as FPS. What would be a good card to get and which is appropriate for my current system? I prefer Nvidia over AMD cards. My system is old and I'm not currently sure when I'll be updating it, but I've been playing games on it such as "Resident Evil: Village" with decent graphics quality. Hardware is Intel i7-2600K CPU, 16 GB RAM, Asus P8Z68 Deluxe motherboard with PCIe-2.0, PSU is 1200 W. I'm playing games in HD resolution (I haven't got into 4K yet) and playing on three HD monitors would be nice.

I heard that I need to watch out to make sure the new graphics card is compatible with my motherboard and BIOS, and that the card can initialise with my Legacy BIOS boot method rather than UEFI boot.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to decide and purchase this week, in time for kids half-term school holidays. :)

Thanks.
