Cmd window cannot see directory

Hi -
In Windows 10, when I use File Manager I can see the directory c:\Users\famil\Desktop\Data.
When I use a CMD.EXE command window, I cannot see c:\Users\famil\Desktop\Data.
Both work for viewing c:\Users\famil\Desktop.
It does not seem to make a difference if I open the CMD window as Administrator or as regular user.
All the files I wish to access are in subdirectories of c:\Users\famil\Desktop\Data.
Any idea of what is going on? This works on my old Windows 10 computer.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi JOBeard -
No. I don't remember exactly why this went away, but when I got rid of Microsoft OneDrive this problem went away. Note my usage of the words "got rid of Microsoft OneDrive", because "got rid" includes the painful cleanup after doing an uninstall of OneDrive. Somehow there appears to have been another ordering of directories and the one that the cmd window was using was not the same as the one that was the visible ordering of directories. That's the only way I know how to say it.

I can truly say that I underestimated the subtleties of uninstalling OneDrive. I'm over it now (at least I think I am), but I did not realize how a simple uninstall of OneDrive is not smart if one uses external linking of Excel files.

My .bat files now execute correctly in CMD windows.

Thanks.
Doug
