Complete hardware transfer

Hi Guys

Newbie here so any help at all is appreciated.

I have two pcs at home an old one and a really old one. My old one has packed in, as in the power button has gone. I want to transfer the enitre guts of it ie hardrive processors the works and replace the stuff in my really old pc.

Can this be done?

Kind Regards
Craig

Do you mean just transfer the components of one computer to the case of the old one? This can be done fairly easily, as long as the second case is as least the size of the original one.

Unless you still have the manual for the old motherboard, I recommend that you map the front panel header pins as you take off the front panel cables of the old motherboard. When it's time to connect them to the front panel cables of the old, old case, it will come in handy.

By the way, you can buy a new power switch if you want.

Or use the one from the really old case. :D
