Computer Freezes after I go into sleep mode

Ok, so I have had my Sony Vaio for a year nao, Got it December 6 of 2008.
It has worked fine until i think August of last year, I have no idea what teh problem is
I have read soo many things and i am not sure what to do. So i was hoping someone knew what the problem was.

I am running.
Sony Vaio VGN-NS140E

Intel Core 2 Duo T5800

3 gb ram

32 bit OS
