You know SNGX1275,
some posts give us more information than others. We have to rely on the information given, we are not mind readers. I picked up on the temps because the voltages were ok.. For a Pentium 4, the temps seem high. Not real high, but still high enough to investigate further... That's all :)
I know I wasn't arguing with anyone. The temps are the easiest to fix and a good place to look for the problem. I didn't know the processor type, I suggested to run the memtest overnight just as a secondary troubleshooting thing and I specifically said overnight rather than just run it (as in asap) because it takes a long time.

....would a new fan fix the problem? o_O

That would depend on whether the fan was the cause or the problem. From looking at your pics from Everest, it appears your cpu fan is running at a good speed. There aren`t that many things that would cause a system to freeze. It`s either software or hardware related. Software related problems might be viruses etc(which I think we`ve ruled out) or corruption/faulty software. Hardware related causes are likely to be Overheating, faulty or underpowered psu, faulty hard drive etc.

Run Memtest and let us know the results. Also, check your task manager and click on the processes tab. Look for any spikes in cpu usage when the system freezes and make a note of the process involved, if this occurs.

Finally, you can remove the heatsink and after cleaning off the old thermal pad/paste from the heatsink and cpu, apply new thermal paste to the cpu die.

I would also like you to provide details of your psu as I requested earlier on in this thread.

Regards Howard :)
