Computer randomly shuts itslef off

Yeah.. I keep getting a message saying "What do you want the computer to do"
Then it gives me a bunch of options: Shut down, Restart, Log off, ETC. No matter what I do, (usually I just hit cancel) the message reappears right away.. Hit cancel again. This goes on for about 5 or 6 times then my computer shuts itself off... What can I do to STOP this??

Start->Run-> shutdown -a

Should abort the shutdown process

Doesn't do anything for me. What is that supposed to accomplish?
