MY Windows XP will freeze literally two minutes after startup, but only after a message from chrome pops up saying " your profile could not be opened correctly". The computer will then freeze and I cannot open or do anything; task manager cannot be accessed either. I can not system restore, and if I try to enter safe mode in any way a list of "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system 32" items appear and the computer just stops there. A disk check is also run by the computer right before the actual startup screen, and stops at around stage 2 and stays at a certain percentage. I don't know what to do.

Sounds like a virus or other malware infection...

hi i had this and found out for some reason maleware bytes was causing it as i uninstalled and problem went away .. thats if you have that installed .. also like t said most prob maleware or a virus u need to keep turning off and on till u can get on then do anti virus scan and maleware etc
