Windows has a habit of updating your drivers when it's unnecessary. Although intended to assist you in getting a driver, the wrong default can regress your system.
Device driver install can be controlled
1. Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click/tap on the Devices and Printers icon.
2. Under Devices, right-click or press and hold on your PC icon >>computer name<<,
scroll and click on Device installation settings
3. Select ( ) Yes use MS Update Automatically or
( ) NO
Let Me Choose
( ) Use Windows Update if not found on my computer
4. SAVE (and allow UAC prompt)
When a new device is discovered at boot time, this choice will take effect.
