I want to buy a new smartphone (Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S21 5G) on the Verizon network. My old Verizon phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) has an issue where many of the pictures I’ve taken with it are corrupting – some more than others. Other than the phone being excruciating slow to open an app, there doesn’t appear to be anything else wrong with the phone but I’m afraid I’ve got some sort of virus corrupting my pictures.
When buying a new unlocked phone on the same network as an old phone, I understand I’m supposed to put the SIM card from my old phone in the new one. If I do have a virus, will putting my old sim card in the new phone corrupt any pictures I put in the phone from my computer or the future pictures I take with my new phone?
