CPU temp too high? Core i7-860 95C at full load

Ok I got my Arctic Silver last week and I overclocked back to 3.94Ghz and the temps are 32-40C just browsing the web and such, and under full load using Prime95 it gets to around 50-60C

Get your temperatures from the bios You will fry the cpu eventually at thatg temp it should be under 50. dont Oc with a stock heatsink and fan. Also make sure your heatsink is on the board all the way. set the cpu temp setting in the bios to alarm at a certain temperature for safety and cpu fain warning so if the cpu fan stops it will alarm or shutdown.

I never get to those temps while editing or anything(which I mostly do) only when I render which doesn't take long at all. The max temp for the i7 860 is like 72C, and it never gets that high. I have a H50 for my cooling purposes and I don't think I screwed it on properly so I'm going to recheck that right now.

Those temps are normal, that's what I have on my 920 @ 3.8 using a H50, both at idle at with Prime95.

But you never answered my question Gamerjock about what happened to the compound that came preapplied on the waterblock?

I took it off because it did worse then the ceramic compound. Under full load the original compound was around 80-90C and the ceramic under full load was low 70's.

Ceramic is low end, but there is no way a properly used water cooler can't handle that processor at 4ghz easy.
IDK.
