CPU usage always at 100%, computer is laggy

Hi, I have an HP G72 Notebook. It has been running smoothly with 4gb of ram and an Intel core i3 processor. But all of a sudden after a restart, it has been SUPER slow and the CPU usage has always been at 100 percent. I can barely do anything at all on it. I haven't installed any new updates. I have been using AVG Internet security for about 5 months and haven't gotten any type of malware. I have to use another computer to write this. I have looked through the processes and nothing seems to be slowing it down, even when I look at the processes through process explorer. I have attached a hijackthis log. I have no clue what could be causing this.

I have looked at your HJT log briefly.
I quickly found one adware - GenericAskToolbar.dll.
Other entries also raise concern for me.

Since you suspect malware, (as evidenced by your providing an HJT log)
I would suggest you
1. navigate to our Malware forum here - https://www.techspot.com/vb/menu28.html
2. Carefully read the stickies at the top of the forum (By Julio and Bobbye).
3. Follow the directions here - https://www.techspot.com/community/...lware-removal-preliminary-instructions.58138/
Then post in that forum.

I am not qualified to help you there, but Bobby or Broni (or...?) will get to you as soon as they can.

If your system proves to be clean, then perhaps it is VMware that is slowing you down?
Still, I would go for a complete check-up just to be sure.
