One of the main components in vaping which allows it to vaporize is propylene glycol. Propylene glycol acts as a preservative and is used in many foods and beverages. It is also a disinfectant which has been pumped through ventilation systems in hospitals and large restaurants since the 1950s to prevent the spreading of airborne illnesses.
