Thanks, I will try it. I read those threads in depth. One thread on here specifically said not to post on those old threads, so i didn't.

As expected (because it is written 300 other places), the iso does not work. Dell is unable to help because I am not the original owner. You need a password generator, but unfortunately it is not readily available, and people are charging ~$100 to generate one for you.

Need Dell HDD password

Can somebody help me with the password for a locked harddrive from a Latitude D510 #2PAX2DRZD3M-595B?

Thanks.

Several threads merged.

Please don`t open any more new threads for this subject.

All requests for Bios or HDD passwords should be made in this thread.

Regards Howard :)

Hello. Everytime I post to a thread asking for help, the thread gets closed. I'm just trying to help a friend with an old laptop he bought 3rd or even 4th hand. His laptop is locked, and the service tag is HC9HM11-595B. Please help if you can.

 Hello Rustam and All Other Techspot Members,

I find myself humbled  with a computer brought to me by a good friend who has always thought I could fix ANY computer problem. Well, I stand before you Rustam asking for your goodness in helping me with of course another Dell gray screen prompting for a system/ administrator password.

Dell Model: Latitude D620

Thank You in Advance! :grinthumb

Nothing at http://www.download.centre4service.com/home.html works for our 595B systems that are locked, Stop being rude to these people and show them something that eveyone hasnt already checked out. NOw you can Either pay the $100 to some greedy basement nerd or attempt to find your self a generator.
If your not a 595B problem then the software on that web address will work.

I have an idea why doesnt one of these guys who acually helps us people on this tread release the 595B generator to a Techspot Evangelist , Admin , Our maybe a guy like paralon that pretty much monitors these boards and he can address our problems. All I see on these Dell boards are "HELP ME PLEASE" & "GIVE ME $50-$100 ILL HELP" . It takes no more than 30seconds to generate a password. The nerve of some people. At my repair shop sometimes I dont even charge for password removal on desktops and some older laptops, because its so easy. Now I think we should be help eachother.
But thats me 1 person in a sea of millions

How do we know if these Dell laptops are stolen or have been illegally sold? A lot of laptops are stolen by drug users and other thieves and sold on E-Bay and other places. If you can't prove legal ownership, why should we provide information on how to remove passwords? Are you an unauthorized user? You paid very little and didn't ask any questions. Why not pay to have the passwords removed?

Your right there isn't really a way of telling if they are or aren’t stolen. I’m sure there are stolen ones here that people want to unlock , but I still think that the majority aren’t stolen and were bought by people with good intentions , they didn’t get them free , so they paid. If they could afford a new system they would have bought one. But they didn’t. Chances are most people didn’t know the password was there and have no way of contacting the original owner , So in my opinion I think any price over $30 is outrageous for a 30 second job, payment should be maybe a word of advice or possible a service in return. Too many people are too greedy today. If I had a generator I would help as many people I could each time I logged into Techspot. But that’s not the case.
Bottom line most password removal services are ripping good people off every day.

I was thinking that every laptop users (either the legally own or stolen) will be part of what you call helping hand to those interested to help not to make money out of it. Maybe they are not that intelegent to understand people now a days are saving some money to survive not to the extend to spend to other users intention making money in this helping board.

"Bottom line most password removal services are ripping good people off every day"...

People have the right to make a living. If you call Dell for help, what do they tell you? I'm curious

Yes people have the right but there is a fine line between NEEDING and just being greedy. I’m sure that generating passwords isn’t a full time job for these guys. They more than likely do it after they get off work or on their days off. If they live off generating passwords what will they do when there generator doesn’t work anymore? Bottom line is I’m right. People are greedy and self-centered. But in saying they have a right to be password generators they shouldn’t be so outrageous on their prices. I could understand if it took an hour to generate a password but no it doesn’t take but 30 seconds. Like the guy above me posted he thought these forums are here so we can help each other not rip each other off.
If those guys needed help they would look for an easy way to fix it and I’m positive that wouldn’t involve money out of their pockets.

i think it will be ggod idea if someone can suply every ones a password for some dollars;) so as all will be happy and a part of that money goes to the forum for other interesting problems and so on...., will be better , im i right?

excuse my english:d

I would be ready to pay something like 5-20 dollars, but not 100€, c'mon! And I don't trust ebay as a reliable way, through the internet you can be easily cheated.

Yeah I agree to that this guys are offering me something like $50 to $100 per system lock. You want some names? even from dell employee has another gimmicks.... gave me a signal i will post them here.

If you don't know the orginal owners name they won't help you at all. They tell you that you have transfer ownership first, but you can't do that without the orginal owners name. So your stuck.

Ok Slayor,
thanks for the info. You seem to be well versed on the Dell Password issues. We have posted several sites that might help some, but not all. If you could spend some time putting all these sites in one spot, it might help others to locate fixes. No matter what we do, there will always be some who can't understand what it takes to unlock the systems. I'm sure there are computer shops out there that will unlock Dell's at a low cost
