Discord is picking up system sounds with or without headset

So up until December, I was using Discord just fine, with or without a headset. Then out of no-where the mic started to pick up audio from the on board speakers. What's even more bizarre is that I've got one of those headsets where you can move the boom mic to the vertical position to mute it, but the system/game audio is then played through instead of my voice. Any ideas?
