Doom 3 Demo does not execute

When Doom 3 Demo is executed, the typical Vista dialog box for an application crash displays:
"Doom 3 has stopped working" etc...

System Specs:
Gateway NX570X Notebook.
Intel Core Duo 32-bit
Vista Home Premium SP1.
DirectX 10.0
Intel 945GM video microchip with latest driver.
1024 MB memory.
6 GB free on my Applications directory where the demo was installed.

Is there a solution?

also, the Intel graphics module has 256 MB video memory.

I would say your integrated graphics chip is insufficient to run the game or its demo.
