Doom III installer problems?

' Sup...? with doom III on windows xp mce ....installed game but went into dead space when I tried to run the game //no reaction whatsoever. have 2gigs ram and am runniing ati radeon x700 express on adapter to pciex1slot in dell e-310 have latest catalyst drivers, and downloaded patch 1.3...nada... am wondering if there is a problem with the installer pkg. and if so...what can i do to fix the problem.

Really difficult to read, try copying the files to your desktop and installing it from there.

re-installed ati drivers and am now having initialization error unknown event /line 980: get ideal weapon
