Drive error

Hi - my first use of techspot

problem - pc starts ok with the msi page displayed but instead of then loading the os the final two lines = "drive error pres f1 to continue" press f1 & all is well
as you can see this is not a big problem just one more key stroke but it is very aggravating & if anyone knows of a simple fix i'll be very thankfull

hdd checks out ok & i have fresh intalled vista

"drive error pres f1 to continue" press f1"... This is probably caused by a hard drive failing it's SMART status. Even though you say it checked out ok, (you don't say how you checked it) It may need to be replaced. Or you can put up with the "F1" message

It could also be the floppy drive, can you disable the floppy drive in the BIOS and see how that works

Bad floppy drives usually give an error 41 or something like that
