Drive Types and Reliability

As SSD drives become more ubiquitous and affordable, how reliable are they for archiving and backup versus traditional platter drives? I ask because there is an air of possibility of losing your information over time if power isn't applied regularly to these drives. Are my concerns unfounded?

Classic hard drives have moving parts, and are also fragile.

SSD and HDD different types, but SSD is fast, tough and have more performance then Hard disk drive

TLDR: Only extremely worn out SSDs have a chance of loosing data at high temperatures.

Any worn out HDD will have the same issue as well though. If you are really worried about your data buy high endurance SSDs or HDDs.
