Electronic Arts on Thursday confirmed what dedicated gamers had already uncovered last week: the reveal date for the next Battlefield game.

The publisher updated its official Battlefield landing page with the new information, revealing that the next game in the “all-out war saga” will indeed be called Battlefield V. The live reveal will take place on May 23 (next Wednesday) at 1 p.m. Pacific / 4 p.m. Eastern / 10 p.m. CET and will be hosted by Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

The stream will be broadcast on Battlefield’s YouTube channel and on the Battlefield website as well as via Twitch and Mixer. In it, the development team will reportedly share their vision of the game and reveal how “Battlefield will never be the same.”

EA conveniently made the announcement on the same day as the live reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Aside from a single piece of artwork, not much else is known about the game. Rumors have suggested it’ll be set during World War II although EA hasn’t confirmed that. We also don’t know what platforms it’ll be heading to or even when EA plans to launch the title (this fall seems likely but an exact date isn’t yet known). Those details and more will probably come either next week during the live reveal or in June at E3.

Ok, fine. But only if it costs $130 initially this time, is basically the same game that 3,4 and 1 are with a slightly different paint job again and also has lots of server problems when it comes out. Oh and don't forget lots of expansions that add a rifle and a map for 20 bucks each, mmmmkay?

was the sarcasm a bit thick? ;)

Make Battlefield Terrible Again... should be their slogan. I bet it will be more of the same. We shall see though.

What I really want is a Bad Company 3 with full single player campaign. In fact just go straight off BC2, and make it bigger with better graphics. I'd buy that.

If it has pay to win or any loot that isn't free like Battlefront 2 was then I won't even bother with any BF5 news and will just consider EA and DICE dead to me.

No dice (pun intended). I already have BC2, BF1, BF3, and BF4. The game play is basically identical anyway.
