Feel free to not reply to posts that were not directed at you...no reason to bait members like with that post. Never going to use twitter yet you are in every thread about it, cuz Musk bad. We get it.
So it's alright for YOU to constantly praise Musk as some kind of digital messiah, but it's not ok for others to point out they feel the opposite? Case and point, I never liked Musk from the start. It has nothing to do with what he's up to now. He's always been an arrogant *****. I never liked Twitter, never used it, and never will. I consider Twitter a digital dump heap. You think you're getting some kind of magical fix with Musk's action, but you're sorely mistaken. I can't wait to see you Musk fanboys turn on him once you find out what he's truly about.

Yeah he could have coughed up $1Billion to exit the deal. You're going through a lot of mental gymnastics to make him the victim.
You have it all wrong. The $1 billion penalty was to be paid if he deal didn't go through because of factors NOT controlled by Musk. Example; if regulators didn't approve the buyout for whatever reason then he would have to pay that penalty. Changing your mind the last minute does not fall under that umbrella.

Remember that Twitter rejected Musk's first offer because they didn't take him seriously, and they were right. So when he came back with his ridiculous second offer (he ended up paying at least 3x what Twitter is actually worth in the real world) they took it, but made him sign an absolutely air-tight, ironclad contract because they KNEW he couldn't be trusted to go through with it. His lawyers told him he can go to trial, but he will lose and still have to pay the $44 billion, so he chose to forego the trial. Simple as that.

Yup they couldn't get rid it of fast enough because they knew the bot problem was bigger than the info they gave him. Hence the reason they took him to court to force it. Usually those contracts also contain a monetary penalty for backing out and yet they wanted to FORCE him to buy. Telling...
Everything you just said is complete nonsense. This argument about bot problems holds about as much water as Trump insisting he magically declassified every document he possesses. Initially Musk said he was buying Twitter to *FIX* the bot problem because it was pretty bad and Twitter wasn't doing much about it. Then later when he realized he made an absolutely ridiculous offer for a worthless company, suddenly he changed his tune and started saying he's not buying it BECAUSE it has too many bots. He chose to forego any semblance of due diligence because he's such a hotshot who just likes to throw around large numbers. But somehow all that is Twitter's fault, not his own, right?

Try again. I never praised Musk or am a fanboy. He has his issues like everyone else and will call him out if needed. If you read my previous posts in all the twitter threads you might have known that. And wtf, where did I say nobody could have a different opinion?

What leader isn't arrogant? I also consider twitter a trash heap. But gosh forbid someone try to clean it up. At least allow ALL political views. It may work or it may not. Nice to know you have inside information on the bot problems when nobody else knows and bringing up Trump again. You have a problem with that so be it. Seems your feelings about Musk are getting in the way of having a rational conversation. Apparently you are a Musk hater and I'm a fanboy. Got it. Pot, kettle, black.

Thanks for schooling me on the legal stuff. We agree it was a bad buy.

A couple of relevant articles - https://www.reuters.com/technology/...nette-says-tweet-she-quit-company-2022-11-01/ Top execs are leaving...

Twitter will not reinstate banned users without 'clear process,' Musk says https://www.reuters.com/technology/...s-without-clear-process-musk-says-2022-11-02/

During the call, Musk committed to uphold Twitter's content moderation policies and enforcement around election integrity, said Rashad Robinson, president of Color of Change, in an interview.

IMO, not at all unexpected.

Like I said, and I assume it needs repeating, if you don't like my posts, block me, or report me to the mods.

But, you are not staff or a mod here at TS, so, and I'll throw out an asinine order since you seem to issue them yourself, don't get POd because you don't like someone else's post.

Take your posts to PMs if you don't like people replying to them; otherwise, they are in a public forum and people, even those you do not like or to whom they are not addressed, are free to and will reply to them.

And who gives a crap whether twitter charged for accounts before? Musk will spin it as his idea.

Freedom of speech my ***.

So you admit to baiting or trolling posts that add nothing to the thread lol, OK, Will do...

And when I said FEEL FREE to not respond to my posts I was actually demanding you not reply? Are you being purposely obtuse or just can't comprehend? By all means keep replying if you want to discuss the topic I'm all for it.

We have free speech here, just like Twitter is trying to change, ironic isn't it. 😉

Good...

Sounds OK to me. From what I read he will not unban anyone until after the upcoming elections.

Twitter can EASILY survive if Elon doesn't profit from it personally. Of course, he's gotta get more and more money to feed his psychosis and it will never be enough. This is the kind of psychopath that becomes successful with capitalism. Nobody should have his level of power without being elected by the populace to get it.

You know, I can pretty much guarantee that Twitter is about to go and join myspace in the realm of irrelevancy. Someone else will come up with something better and people will just use that. Musk may have just killed Twitter and you know what? It's probably for the best if someone can come up with something even better (which shouldn't be that hard).

So many tears in this thread.

He was the one that initiated the buyout and set the price and signed a legally binding document.
A document is not legally binding if the selling party has misrepresented any part of the deal. Whether or not Twitter misrepresented the number of bot accounts is still under discussion.

How so? You still have to verify your identity. In what way is it meaningless?
Now anyone can pretend to be someone famous or newsworthy. The whole point of the original blue check was so you knew you were actually tweeting to or receiving a tweet from John Cleese. Now I can set up an account and call it @realJohnCleese, get my blue check, and no one is the wiser. Moronic. Now nobody will know who is the real identity or not.

The best part about Musk buying twitter is watching all the twats cry! No more voice suppression and the responses to leftists posts could be quite fun once people realize the MAJORITY don't buy into their garbage.
You are right about the majority not buying into it. Liberalism today is what Archie Bunker once said to Meathead about the contract ratification where Archie worked. Archie said "We shouted them down"

Yeah, and he wants to wait for his "content moderation council".
At least someone on the right isn't afraid to tell the truth about that. (y) (Y)

I just wish he would make one exception and unban trump. NOW.

Now, if Musk can affect the prices of video cards. I'll buy into his blue checkmark. Have anyone noticed, but prices are up substantially from 30 days ago.

WTF man. WTF. :)
If Musk were to do that, there would be nothing in it for him.

I don't imagine, though, you are suggesting that Musk buy AMD or nVidia. IMO, if he did, that would actually be a disaster of epic proportion.
