...[ ]....GM do make alot of cars but not very good cars, they are all about the mass production mass profit business (which is fine) but they are really dinosaurs when they come to cars. This has been seen in Australia with the failing of their factories etc and side by side with Korean and Japanese cars they don't come close.

Look, I've been around for quite a while. IIRC, Gm was given loans from the US government to get it's act together. There was a huge management purge, some of the company was sold, the loan was paid back ahead of time, and they lived happily ever after.

Hyperloop yeah is far fetched I agree but still excites alot of engineers and scientist and great for PR which is the end game to fund rocket development. Never know they might pull a rabbit out of a hat and if you never try you never succeed.

Did you really have the stones to ask why I brought up hyperloop? that's another one of Musk's money pits.

Now he's back on his "Mars colony" prestidigitation.

They might first want to try getting to the Moon. NASA faked the Moon landings because it was too risky and they knew the Van Allen Radiation belts were too dangerous, if not lethal. The U.S. government also needed good distraction to divert the population's attention away from the Vietnam War. All that plus to mention it was a huge money laundering scam.

This garbage from Musk is pure fantasy. Do your homework on the Apollo missions. Also, they faked much of the Mars landings. Look that one up too.

Anybody got a clue about why they try to convince people that going to mars makes sense? I mean, we have enough trouble living here. Using huge amounts of resources to move people to a desert planet... seems reasonable, right?

So the really rich can get off this planet as it goes down the crapper. BTW, don't be surprised when they do get to Mars they find evidence that it once had a civilization (which probably left there for Earth when Mars went down the crapper).
