Epic Games Boss says Microsoft is turning the PC into a walled garden with its UWP initiative

But it doesn't make it a total worthless OS.
On that note I will agree. However if it doesn't satisfy every need, then it is not a complete substitute. If it is not a complete substitute then Windows will still be needed. And if windows is still needed, why bother with Linux at all.

On a different line of thought. If Windows 7 works for the Masses, should we not voice our opinions on trying to keep things the way they are as an option at least? I for one will not turn my nose to having more options. Then at least I would have the option to change on my own terms. And not be forced into an immediate hatred for something I might otherwise enjoy. Microsoft has forced change because that is not something the masses want, and forcing change is the only way for them to make change. Which interprets to change for the sake of change.

Good point, I wish Microsoft could just stick to Windows 7 and do this incremental updates, that they are doing now with Windows 10. Rather than releasing a complete different OS. I think for the Masses that would work out a lot better, since most people would feel bothered with changing OSes and having to re-learn it again.

10 is more like 7 than it is different from it.
