Epic Games, the company behind Unreal Tournament and Gears of War, has announced its latest game - Paragon. Aside from a fairly vague teaser site, the company hasn’t said very much about the title. The only things we know for certain are that five heroes will be revealed over the coming weeks, it is getting a Beta test at some point in the future, and that the game will be released for the PC in 2016.

Epic isn’t even saying what kind of game Paragon is, and there’s no indication on the teaser site of what to expect. So far, the only hero who has been revealed is Twinblast. His cybernetic arms and apparent fondness for leather gives him a bit of an 'Adam Jensen from Deus Ex' look. Clicking on Twinblast shows the ‘in-game items’ that can be unlocked for the character, which sound a lot like perks – giving extra damage when he's injured or against shielded targets, for example. Clicking on one of these items asks you to sign up to save the item, so you will be able to use it the first time you play Paragon.

It’s suspected that Paragon could be a FPS/MOBA-hybrid game in a similar vein to Blizzard’s Overwatch, with the heroes and their unlockable items/abilities certainly suggesting that this may be this case. The next few weeks will see Steel, Sparrow, Dekker and Grux revealed. The last hero being unveiled on December 3rd, which probably means we’ll see the Beta before the end of 2015.

Epic is also currently working on a new Unreal Tournament, the long-awaited Fortnite, and virtual reality shooter Bullet Train.

They could have just taken the picture of the guy and not waste time on a pointless video.

Maybe this chump has a fetish for leather for unknown reasons. Batman (and Catwoman) has a fetish for latex and wearing his skivvies on the outside of his batsuit, also for some unknown reason. I suppose it takes all types.

Oh god, don't let it be another shooter/MOBA hybrid. Leave it to game companies to make a game sub-genre feel saturated before they even come out.

Overwatch -just- entered closed beta too... meh.

I trust Blizzard to do a good job, as they have done for quite awhile. Not so sure on Epic.

What are those shooter/MOBA hybrids? I only know Overwatch.

Overwatch - Blizzard
BattleBorn - Gearbox Software
Paragon - Epic Games

I'm waiting to play the beta of Overwatch, I am in the technical beta for BattleBorn though and to be honest, I wasn't sure I liked it, although, it does have some serious balancing issues...
