Fail to install audio driver lenovo G550

One quick thought and thing is worth a try, right click each Other Device, select Update and allow Windows to search for a driver. Perhaps it might find/fix it

One more quick thought. Check your System Restore points. Perhaps you still have an old one prior to the problem?

Barrrrrrrrrr10, fyi, when answering the post just above it's not necessary to quote it.

I'm willing to try a little debugging (helps me learn more about windows too :) )

Windows 7 maintains a device driver install/uninstall trace file in C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log. They're not easy to read but comparing yours against my own, maybe I can see why the controller driver install is failing.

> Delete C:\Windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log
> Reboot your machine.
> Wait awhile (a least 5 minutes - after all those driver install message bubbles stop appearing in notification bar at bottom right of your Desktop)
> Rename the trace file. Change its extension from .log to .txt so you can now upload it to TechSpot

Then I'll take a look if anything I can make sense of...

/* EDIT */
p.s. no need to quote this post when replying, as mailpup pointed out, when the dialogue is one-on-one (or unless you need to emphasize/point out something that had been said)
