Folder no longer staying on one line

So I found out yesterday that one of my folders is no longer all on one line anymore.

When I go to rename it, the folder stays on one line. But after I finish renaming, it doesn't stay on that one line.

Line position would expect to move, especially if the display is by-name alphabetically. As long as the folder shows somewhere you're fine.

If you display by Modification Date, I would expect the rename to stay put.

How do I display by modification date on Windows 10?

Get a folder view and look at the headings; click on the heading to be sorted, click once for ascending, again for descending
