Formatting a thumbdrive

I'm just curious how long it could/might take to format a 120 gb thumbdrive ?

Depends, Quick or Low level. The latter will take far more as it rewrites every sector.

Ok, I know you say NOT Quick, so I guess I'm doing a low level. Its been going for over 12 hours now so I'll let it go, thank you

Ok, well its still going.It appears its about 3/4 done.

@jobeard , about how long should it take to format a 120 gigabyte flashdrive ? Its been going for over 2 days.

Hmm; imo, KILL the format and restart it. If it can't complete in 8hr, it's trash.

After restarting it, it went for maybe 90 minutes/2 hours & I got a pop up saying Windows can't format that drive.Oh well.
