Forza Horizon 6 leaks online a week before launch, Microsoft starts banning players

Microsoft accidentally turned early access into a battle royale where the prize is getting your motherboard blacklisted before launch day.

"to permanent hardware bans tied to affected PCs." the word "permanent" does not exist.
you can easily spoof that.

I mean who cares? It still being developed by playground, so you kinda don't feel sorry for them bearing in mind they lacklusted designing, gameplay and other fk ups.

Update (May 11, 4pm): Users report that Microsoft and Playground Games have started issuing bans to players who accessed the leaked Forza Horizon 6 build before launch, with reports ranging from Xbox account suspensions to permanent hardware bans tied to affected PCs. The studio says the leak was not caused by a Steam preload issue, despite widespread claims that unencrypted files briefly became accessible online.
Insane how one guy derailed this forum into talking about valve, and no one is talking about how INSANE IT IS TO LET A COMPANY BAN YOUR HARDWARE for no reason. Plus the surveillance aspect.

Truly amazing. How is this normalized

lol the hardware ban was for reason what do you mean no reason??

What is very important to clarify is who is getting banned. If I pirate and install a game on my machine and play it online especially using my Microsoft account, I absolutely deserve a ban. But if the bans are happening to people who downloaded, installed and played a game offline, then this is insane and an ungodly amount of noise should be made and attention brought to this topic. It is your machine, no one should be allowed to check what you are doing on it without your consent, unless you are connecting to play with other people online on Microsoft servers. That deserves a ban 100%. Gonna test this out today.

That's not a reason. And even if it were, microslop isn't law enforcement.
lol that is a good enough reason for them tor give you hardware ban for the game.

What nonsense are you talking about Law enforcement. They don't need the LAW to do that.

Buy your games and it won't be an issue.
