Free program for drivers needed

A friend just sent me this email " Do you know of a free program, that will check all drivers and look for updated drivers, then install them? For Free!

I hope someone here can help. I believe its for a W8 pc . OR, should I just tell him to go to the manufacturers website to get them?(y)
