From Nvidia to The Trump Organization: The best and worst reputable companies in 2024

They actually convinced 10 electors to go to DC and cast their ballots not for who actually won their state, but for her.
Wrong. Here's the full story:
The 2016 Faithless Electors
Bottom line: In 2016 there were five Dem and two GOP "faithless". As a result Clinton lost five electoral votes and Trump lost two. All who could be punished were.

There was no organized conspiracy to overthrow the results from seven swing states, involving 80+ completely fake electors, and thereby overturn the entire election, as in 2020.

That was per a written plan by Trump lawyers, who envisioned him invoking the Insurrection Act to deal with the expected massive civil protests and, incidentally, bewildered folks like you saying "but they couldn't have cast those ballots!". Had Pence accepted those electors, as Trump badgered him relentlessly to do, it would be a fait accompli.

Arguing that creating and implementing a plan to overthrow our government is somehow OK if there's a chance it wouldn't have worked is... silly.

Lol, the Democrat speaking arm: "factcheck.org". The facts: Not one of the electors switched to Trump.

AP: "The movement for “faithless electors” to stop Donald Trump from reaching the White House has failed. In an unanticipated turn of events, more electors defected from Hillary Clinton than from Donald Trump. "

From Politico: "Advocates of the long-shot bid to turn the Electoral College against Donald Trump have been in contact with close allies of Hillary Clinton, according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions... "

From the NYT: "A Historic Number of Electors Defected, and Most Were Supposed to Vote for Clinton...."

There was no "plan" to overthrow the government. Had there been an actual coup planned, why would electors have even been needed? Next time think before you post.

And of course nobody said they did. Five switched away from Clinton and two away from Trump. Why do you feel the need to straw man?

The Factcheck.org account of it is very detailed and updated to 2023. You bandying passing headlines is... silly.

More muddy-the-water wordplay. The primary plan to overturn the election and thus overthrow the government was via the fake electors. As explained roughly one million times. Some in the Trump camp were recommending a coup; and Trump may have had other ideas as well. But the fake electors is provable and, if there is any justice, will eventually land him in prison for trying to steal my vote. Which I view as a serious offense.

Lol you seriously cannot believe this nonsense. Please explain how you believe this plot would have worked. The electors just shuffle into DC along with the normal 540, and no one notices a few hundred extra votes? And if they were planning on voting regardless -- why didn't they?

As I said -- next time THINK before you post!

????? Certificates from the fake electors were to replace those from the legit electors. How hard is that to understand?

Hint: Mocking a straw man you've created isn't convincing. But, to be fair, trying to defend the indefensible leaves you few alternatives.

My suggestion: accept what your guy did and says he will do; look in yourself and decide if - now that you know what he is - you still want him in the White House. If not, climb down from the pile of trumpisms you've pushed, and get on the right side for the nation. Like Rick Wilson, for example.

Stop insisting that Trump didn't do what he's obviously done, and won't do what he's obviously set on doing. He is NOT a conservative as in conserving American values and traditions. He's a "burn it down and make me dictator" demagogue like Mussolini and Hitler. He's stolen the conservative label along with the whole GOP structure.

And once he's in power, you'll get what he wants - not what you want. As the German elites and churchmen found.

You know that, but you just don't want to be "wrong". Well, we were ALL wrong in not understanding his nature and opposing him more effectively to begin with.

If you can't vote for Biden, at least don't vote for Trump.

These were a slate of alternate electors, only to be used if the court challenges succeeded.
No. That was Trump's ground team BS to convince the more gullible to sign. In some states the latter were smart enough to get that caveat written into their fake elector documents. But the ringleaders knew how it was really going to go.

For example, Kelli Ward was the de facto organizer of fake electors in Arizona. She was the Chair of the Az Republican Party (!), has been indicted for the crime, and has fled the country to avoid prosecution. She wrote beforehand that if there was no "pending" court case against the election process then the fake elector scheme would "look like treason". Of course. So the day before transmitting the fake documents she got a bogus fig-leaf lawsuit filed. Her lawyer also advised that they should stop calling themselves "fake" electors because.. that doesn't sound so good.

Of course no such lawsuits in any of the states even alleged fraud, much less found anything significant; nor were they expected to. Those "court challenges" were all political theater to "justify" - to people like you - the desperate and extreme actions being set in motion.
