Game freezes and non working videos

Hello,

I have two old PC games I am trying to run on my Win Xp laptop.

The games are Helicops and G-nome.

Both seem to install and run okay, but G-nome will not play the videos and Helicops freezes when you die i the game.

ANy suggestions?

I looked at my DirectX dxdiag file and it says on both games display driver Direct3D not installed? Could this be teh problem? All the other components are installed.
I tried to reinstall directX and it says installed okay but the display driver Direct3D not installed still remains.

Any suggestions?

Try changing the compatibility mode to an earlier version of Windows. The games came out way before Windows XP did.
