GeForce RTX 2060 vs. Radeon RX 5600 XT: 32 Game Benchmark

The 5600 XT price needs to come down by 10-20$. Hopefully we'll see that happen once stocks stabilise and production costs go down a bit.

Looks like an even match between the two, so I‘d say it really comes down to preference and how one feels about the driver issue.

In any case I‘d really not spend more than 300 for a GPU right now seeing how new GPU and gaming consoles are on the horizon.

With rtx 2060 ko it sold at $300, 5600 xt must go to $250. nvidia still has stronger mindshare that $30 cheaper is not enough for amd to compete.
amd must also consider to lower 5700 to maybe $310 to kill rtx 2060

Seems like 1080p and 1440p labels on the results are swapped by mistake.

Still, other websites have different results (again), one of them has this for Gears 5 (dx12, all maxed out, 1080p) 9900K also, and so on. TS is undercutting 2060 by a lot somehow. And yes, systems vary , but if the system below is stronger, how come 5600xt runs slower? :/

Agreed, if the performance is basically identical the Radeon needs to be about $50 cheaper to be competitive when you factor in AMD's ecosystem.
Good review, as always.

At $315 for the Sapphire 5600XT 6GB linked here you would be downright crazy to not just buy a dual fan 5700 8GB for $320. More memory, as fast as the 2060 Super.

I know drivers have been a real concern but it's a relatively small risk and a good chance AMD will iron out issues you might see eventually. I can't buy a 6GB GPU for $300 in 2020 knowing full well within a year new console games are going to be sucking down more VRAM.

I have an MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z, playing in 1440p 75Hz G-sync and I love it. It performs remarkably, it is quiet and the geforce experience software package is a blessing to use.
I can highly recommend it to anybody without a doubt. Good to see competition from AMD, hopefully we will see better prices as a result.

Umm...the 2060 for USD 300, the Super series... those are the better prices you can already see.

Not sure why Radeon drivers "issues" are repeated time and again, but as a 5700XT user I too would like to repeat: "what the heck is that meme all about?" No issues here with Sapphire Pulse RX 5700XT. Or those who are complaining, tell me what problems you guys are experiencing and in what games. If I have them, I will try and let know my experience too.

The author forgot to mention RX 5600 XT bundle offer come with free games, Monster Hunter World (USD 39.99), Resident Evil 3 (USD 59.99) and 3 months XBOX game pass (USD 29.97). Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT actually cost USD 160 only. (Card $160, games total US$ 130)

RTX 2060 give you nothing and cost USD 300 for the card.

I've using Asus Strix RX 570 for the past one year and now Sapphire RX 5600 XT for about a month. I never experience any black screen or other issue. I have tried Adrenalin 2019 and 2020 driver version, no problem at all. My intel processor is running at stock speed.

Those problems are in the drivers' known issues list, so they exist, but they are not affecting everyone and that's what makes them difficult to solve as they are hard to catch and reproduce. Knowing that you might have drivers problems with your new GPU can surely discourage someone from buying a Navi GPU. I hope they fix them all, cause competition can definitely benefit us, the consumers. We saw that with the Ryzen CPUs..

The bundled games only represent value if you wanted to get one of them in the first place. Otherwise their value is close to zero.

In my case, Borderlands 3 was bundled with my €150 Ryzen 2700x. I wanted to get the game anyhow, so that means I essentially got the CPU and HSF for €100, which I could not pass.

I would like to see a graph that breaks down the average of the 1% lows. I suspect that such a graph would present the 5600 XT more favorably, as it doesn't always lose in the 1% low category even when it does lose in the average category, as can be seen in The Outer Worlds' benchmark. In fact, a smaller difference between the average and minimum frame rates might indicate lower spikes in frame times.

Edit: I've counted that myself. The Radeon has a higher 1% low frame rate in 17 of the games, while the RTX wins in 8, and 7 are too close to call. That is significant.

Thanks for the review and benchmarking, good job!

"We do believe the 5600 XT is a decent product and with a little more time to iron out driver issues and shipping cards with the proper VBIOS, it will be"
It will be too little too late, February is over if AMD had the issues resolved today, March and April would be watch and wait time. The competition for this year is over:

you could always sell them if you dont care about any of the games

Merely by splitting the 'too close to call' scores, Radeon wins by 20.5 to 11.5
It does seem significant.
