Generic Non-PnP Monitor

Basically it just keeps disconnecting and reconnecting all the time. I am unable to use the pc properly because of the constant blinking and flashing caused by this. What should I do?

Replace existing parts with 'known good' ones until problem stops: power cable, power connection, data cable, data cable connection, monitor, video card, etc, etc. Take your time, be thorough, keep notes.
