The Google Drive team announced Tuesday a new feature which makes it easier for users to track changes to shared documents. Dubbed Activity Stream, the feature, Google says, will roll out to everyone over the next week, so you may have to wait a few days before you can start using it.

Just click the new ⓘ button, which appears at the top right corner of the screen, to access the new activity stream. The stream will track edits, comments, uploads, changed file names, new spreadsheets, who the file is shared with, and more. The feature also provides an option to select particular files or folders, which makes it easy for you to monitor only what you are interested in.

It isn't a new idea. Rival cloud storage services like Dropbox already offer a similar feature. But it is surely a welcome addition to Drive. The new feature will help those who use Google Drive to collaborate on projects.

Google has been adding features to Drive that make it easy to use. Just last month the Mountain View-based company made it easy to take quick actions on folders like rename, share, organize, and more with a new drop down menu at the top of each shared folder.
