10 days ago, Google officially announced Android 2.3 and the Nexus S. Now, the device is finally available. You can get it from Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores across the US and online. The phone is sold unlocked for $530 without a service plan or for $200 with a T-Mobile service plan. For those in the UK it will be available at Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy retailers on December 20.

I like the fact that its already running 2.3 and will receive updates first particularly since 3.0 should be coming out next year, will most likely wait for the Galaxy S 2 though

Another issue with this device is lack of storage extension via SD Card, which is an astonishing oversight from Google, to put it mildly. Having used Andriod for few weeks now, I think if Google can offer something more uptodate (when it come to hardware/right feature set), I'd rather like to have to that instead of any cell from the likes of LG/Samsung etc. simply because I'd get the software update as soon as it is launched, eliminating the endless wait to get it from the above mentioned manufacturers.

Oh.... I was going to get it over the galaxy S. If there's no micro SD slot then **** it.

Sadly it is true, I have no idea how boffins at Google omitted such an important feature for any modern smart-phone. LG Optimus 2X would be a pretty good alternative, but it doesn't have Super AMOLED screen ...... but I guess this should not be a deal breaker though.
