Hi, about 5 days ago, my laptop's fan was making really disturbing noises so I went on the internet to search for solutions. After a few minutes I came upon this site where it recommended me to download this app/software named "i8kfangui" which is said to make my laptops fan less noisy, yes I was an ***** to download a software thinking it will fix my "fan".

I ran it and it just suddenly restarted my laptop, I thought "weird, isn't it? Maybe it fixed the problem" and then I hear the fan make noise again. I felt that i8kfangui was useless and deleted it. Only to know that after 2 days of deleting it, my laptop became my worst night mare.

When I turn on my laptop, it will freeze on "Starting windows" for about 10-20 minutes, then after I log into the user it will take me to the home screen and freeze again for 10-20 minutes, and then works fine. Sadly after 30 minutes of usage it freezes again, and it exceeds 30 minutes. I do not know if it snaps out of the freeze again since I hate seeing my laptop freeze for 30 minutes.

My laptop is Dell Inspiron and windows 7 home prem. I need help as soon as possible please.

Thank you for your time.

Welcome aboard

Noisy fan would indicate either failing fan itself or laptop's overheating.
Either of those may cause freezing, so it's rather unlikely you just got infected.
