Graphics card to suit

Hi all. Im after some recommendations/thoughts on a Graphics card to suit my current set-up.
Im basically wanting to fit a card that's as higher spec as I can go before the rest of my PC(CPU,RAM,MBoard) becomes a hindrance on its performance.

With Core 2 Duo, I'd say any current $150 card. Just make sure your PSU will be strong enough to power it (at least 400W). Anything less than 400W, and you should probably stick with $100 or less cards.

So you reckon there all that close I should stick to a certain price range? Interesting.
Is that $150US or AUD?
Could I trouble you for a few recommendations? Appreciate your help.
