Since AoE 1 & 2 are on the list why not add 3? It gets a lot of flack from many purists but in reality it was a great game. I for one spent many countless hours playing it and I came from AoE1/2.

I'm with you, 3 is a great game, not an Age game for sure, but a great RTS on it's own.

I've been playing Diablo and PainKiller for many years.
But my favorite was Quake and Doom.
Shooters are the best.

I still play Master of Orion to this day. Good old Gaming's version has removed the copy protection and it all runs perfectly in DOS Box. What many don't know is that when you start the game you need to use Alt+Enter to get it into 'Windowed-Mode" so that you can hold down CTRL and tap F12 a number of times until the top bar says 13000. This changes the smoothness of the game a lot and it's way more playable. Hold down Alt and tap Enter to go back to full screen.

I have a couple of old DOS games for the list that still stand the test of time as two of the greatest PC games ever made:

Starflight
Starflight II - Trade Routes of the Cloud Nebula

They're both abandonware and can be played with DOSBOX. To this day, people still talk about both titles. They were made way back when EA was actually GOOD.
