Hacked on Win 7

Every day I get hacked to a point where I re-install windows. I have a spare disk that I clone. How can I setup my computer to spot the hacker. He locks me out of all my programs so I can't open anything.

You can't catch a hacker if your system can't protect itself. You should only connect to the internet AFTER you are certain that your system is fully defended from hacking.

Do you have a firewall in your Operating System?
Is it functioning before you connect to the internet?
Do you have anti-malware?
Is it functioning before you connect to the internet?
Have you performed a SAFE MODE scan for malware BEFORE you connect to the internet?
Do you have a NAT router?
Is the router connected between the modem and the system?
Have you changed the password in the router BEFORE you connect the modem to the internet?

If you are uncertain about any of these terms, please use google to look them up.

Start over:
  • Disconnect from Internet
  • wipe clean and reinstall
  • As soon as possible, create a Limited User Account(LUA).
  • set a good password for the Admin and a different on for the LUA account
  • NEVER log on to the Admin account for daily work - - only for system maintenance.
  • Use the LUA as your daily account

This simple setup will reduce your exposure at least 90%

Alter your router to Disable Remote Admin and be sure port 8080 is not allowed.
While you are in the router, change the WAN side setting of the MTU to 1492 to avoid buffer overflow issues.
