HDD wipes

I have read several past posts about wiping a HDD, but none answered my question. Which is Can you wipe from an external HDD case using a wiping program or do you have to install it as a slave?I have about 15 HDD that i want to wipe and sell .So No I don't want to put a nail in them/burn them/stick them in acid.Thank you for the help!

There should be no problem wiping the drive when connected by USB.

Hope they are eSata or USB3. Doing a several pass wipe on a hd that is very big is going to be slow. USB 2 is just going to make it slower. It would be well worth the time to install them internally if you can (provided they are bigger than say 400 gigs), especially since you said you have 15 of them.

yes, i have 15 , but they are all only 80 gig, thank you for the help
