yea you can remove those programs that are left if you wish.
Keep 1 AV. 1 Firewall. you can have a combonation of anti-spyware (it doesn't eat resources except when running) , a temp file cleaner, and winpatrol.
If you keep the above update and scan regularly you should not be infected again. And if you are infected again, you are going to know it right away, or possibly even have the opportunity to allow/deny the infection.
