Ever since i hooked up my xbox 360 to my laptop for an internet connection it says i haave an ip address conflict. and im not able to use the internet. and it also affected my desktop too and that wont get the internet. does anyone know how to fix it?

This happened to me too. What happened was that your xbox360 took over the ip adress of your laptop since they are using the same connection. If it is effecting your desktop as well then you need to follow these steps on both the laptop and the desktop.

1. Open the Command Prompt (from the Start button, go to Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt, or just type cmd.exe in "Run".)
2. In the command prompt window, type ipconfig to see current ip address
3. In the command prompt window, type ipconfig /release
4. In the command prompt window, type ipconfig /renew
5. Exit the Command Prompt by typing exit (you can just close it out as well)

Do this on both of your computers.

An alternative would be for you to unplug and reconnect the cat5's from your router and then restart the router. But I would try the command prompt method first. I made myself a batch file using this method so I don't have to type stuff like that in all the time.
