Here's how much it would cost to purchase everything on Steam at once

A lot of people here own more titles than the number they actually played.
may I ask you why ?
I mean... some games I didn't finished for a reason (maybe they are just boring...), but I played every title I bought.
Short answer Steam Sales and Humble Bundle.

A lot of my unplayed games are part of developer packs or game collections I purchased to play one game. For example I wanted to play Quake III arena, the game alone retails for $20, but the game collection which includes all the Quakes was on sale for $10 so I end up with 7 extra games that never got played. I ended up with all the Unreal Tournaments the same way, all the Red Faction games, Serious Sam, etc...

I really wish I could give all these games a chance and play them, but it's hard to find the time and motivation, some older games are just so difficult to enjoy when compared to modern games, either they're graphics are hard on the eyes or the mechanics are so primitive it makes it frustrating.

Sure, Im buying everything on sale on Steam, but I usually buy something I want to play
Time is the main barrier. I pick up the games when they are cheap or as they come with the game I was actually wanting to play (recent humble monthly had Vampyr that I want to play but came with 11 other games as well). Ultimately I will try most games but life gets in the way :)

11 years of Steam I have bought 179 games. Some of which I consider duplicates, like ‘Borderland GOTY’ and ‘Borderlands GOTY Enhanced’ listed as separate games.

Why do people collect cars, coins, books, stamps, and comic books? Because they can and it makes them happy.

Bundles, especially the ones with only one good game out of 14.
