i'm just wondering, if the laptop named above: HP DV6-3045sa is good?
i will probably use the laptop for work, movies, music and games

i just want to know if the laptop is good enough to run games like call of duty modern warfare 2 or black ops?

the laptop technology is never mentioned in the system requirements of the game :/

Whats your budget for a laptop then, if you haven't already purchased this one?

I personally would go for a Intel CPU, over the AMD Turion, and dependant on your budget you could get something better.

no i havent purchased it yet
ideally i dont want to spend more than £500, but i think i can stretch my budget out to £550
what would you suggest?

Here is a couple:

Acer Aspire 5742G Windows 7 Laptop £539.97 Inc VAT
Intel i3 Core 2.4GHz CPU, 4GB RAM, 500GB, ATi Mobility 5470 GPU (512mb dedicated)

Samsung R580-JS06UK Core i3 Laptop in Red Black £549.97 Inc VAT
Intel i3 Core 2.26GHz CPU, 3GB RAM, 320GB, nVidia GeForce 310M GPU

Dell Inspiron 15R laptop £549.00 Inc VAT and Delivery (ships in 24hours offer
Intel i3 Core 370M 2.4GHZ (4 thread CPU), 4GB, 500GB, ATi Mobility HD 550V (1GB dedicated)

I'd choose the Dell personally, but there is a couple to choose from. All are Intel CPUs, and are of good quality.

what about the GPU's?
the acer has the same gpu as the HP above, but has the intel i3 CPU
is the ATI Mobility HD550v better than the HD5470?
and i have no idea about the nVidia 310M

is there a possibility of you ranking those? that would give me an easy understanding and probably help me make my final decision

I'll leave someone else to rank them personally.

That I couldn't tell you, but someone else will I'm sure.

ok, well the Dell does look like a good option, i think i will go for that
i did some research and the hd550v is faster and performs better in games
cheers :)

No worries, though you could always wait a few hours and see if anyone else has anything to add. You never know, someone might find something even better than I have. :)
