HP Recovery problem after replacing Mainboard - DV9500

Hi...

I've got an issue with my HP DV9521tx that has stumped me...

I have my recovery disk but it wont let me get past the loading of setup file.

In the process of diagnosing it, I tried loading XP but eventually I had to replace the motherboard since the nvidia chip fried itself.

My thoughts are that the recovery disks are checking for the motherboard serial or Bios serial number or something and it stops the recovery process, thinking i'm another computer trying to copy the recovery info.

The F11 option at startup does not work either...

A new recovery disk wouldn't help as it would be the same as the one I have now... Can anyone help? (as HP phone support is pathetic)

Anything would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Nick.

I believe you are trying to keep your legit Vista Ultimate, if you want to go back to XP, we can help.

I was going to give you links for the "F11 option missing fix" and noticed you have posted on HP Forum, that is the best place to get help for your situation, if you don't get a reply, let us know and we see what we can do.
