Inactive Html/infected.webpage.gen Issues

Not open for further replies.
First off, I'd like to say thanks for your time and for your future assistance on helping me with my technical issue.

A few months ago, my secondary laptop began acting odd. It wouldn't want to open up any browsers, giving errors that suggested that my firewall was blocking it. Itunes as well has refused to work since this virus came up. The virus tried to jump to my other laptop, but as that laptop was my primary was much better protected and was able to take care of the issue before (I suppose?) it spread.

However with my other laptop in the shop, I decided to take a look at it and the best I've come up with is locating this virus. I must admit, I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about these things but this has just gone to show me just how much of a novice I'm at with these things.

I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong area, or if there is a specific format I'm not following. I understand you will more than likely require a report of some kind though I'm unsure where to get said software.

I look forward to resolving this issue,

Thank you.

Edit: Found the Sticky, Reports to Follow

Welcome to TechSpot! I'll review the logs after you post them.

Here is a bit more information on that:

NOTE: Logs must be pasted in the replies. Attached logs will not be reviewed.

Important!
Please do not use any other cleaning programs or scans while I'm helping you, unless I direct you to. Do not use a Registry cleaner or make any changes in the Registry.

And a CAUTION to you about this:
The virus tried to jump to my other laptop
Malware has to have a way to 'jump'! The most common way if from an infected flash drive. So if you are using a flash drive, we should go ahead and disinfect it now:
These worms travel through your portable drives. If they have been connected to other machines, they may now be infected:
[*] Please download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs and save it to your desktop.
  1. Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
Note: Some security programs will flag Flash_Disinfector as being some sort of malware, you can safely ignore these warnings
  2. The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
  3. Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
  4. Reboot your computer when done.
Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder. It will help protect your drives from future infection.

And a CAUTION to you about this:
Malware has to have a way to 'jump'!

The reason it jumped was I had them setup to read off of each other. The laptop was a friends and I was using it as a sort of extra hard drive. Also, while I was running Malwarebytes it lagged up and froze, not responding. I've had this problem with other programs

Please go back and update, then rescan with Malwarebytes, noting this line:
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
