Hydrogen functions well as a portable energy storage device with the potential to offer the functionality of batteries and the convenience of gasoline. As the availability of "clean" electricity increases and the cost of it drops (already lower than coal generated electricity for several technologies) hydrogen generation becomes more practical. Sea water is a great source of fuel for hydrogen production with commercial value in the minerals that are extracted along the way.

Oops! In my post above, I didn't "appeal to authority" I demonstrated exactly how you can calculate yourself why water vapor is far and away the largest driver of radiative forcing. Thanks for that link, as it makes my point for me. Here's the same graph, over an even longer period of time. Note the immense ups and downs on CO2 level? Clear proof that never in the earth's history have "carbon sources and sinks been in balance."



I do want to note a very important point about this graph (pulled from the alarmist site Earth.Org as it uses a number of tricks to fool the gullible into believing we're experiencing something utterly unprecedented:

1. The graph clips the upper Y axis to 2500 ppm, when there are least two periods in that time where CO2 levels topped 5000ppm -- then quickly decreased.

2. The right side of the graph switches to a logarithmic scale in which a few thousand years occupy the same range as a few million on the left. This allows a false depiction of a lengthy steady-state line prior to the Industrial Age.

3. 90% of the far-right side spike (everything above 400ppm, in fact) isn't actual real-world data, but a hypothetical claim about what they believe will happen in the future.
