I just bought a new keyboard and I have a problem Shift+spacebar not working on games

The main problem was when try to play a Game which makes you hold shift to run, and space to jump and you cant run and jump so its a complete pain.

does anyone know why this is.

Computer is too slow? Too old? Too many USB devices that are lowering the available power?
