I have a windows vista and I can't download some programs such as Itunes. At the installation page it tells me that %APPDATA% could not be found. This has happened to me with some other programs.
I found this thread online that told me to go to regedit.exe to fix but this is a complex method. I have tried it and it didn't work for me. A simpler method would be nicer, but if I have to go to regedit, then I guess it's better than doing nothing.
