'icons' not displaying xp

I'm not sure what the correct term is here (icons, logos,applets??)so have attached a screen grab. This problem occurs in many instances, not just word. For instance, AVG toolbar has missing icons. Kind of annoying having to guess what the missing buttons actually do!

Ok thanks, but just tried that and no change after reboot...

Save the attachment and unzip it ( it will create Graphic Samples\*)

cd to that directory and dbl-click on each; you should get graphics for

• png, gif, jpg and ico files

which one(s) do not display as graphics for you?

They all opened and displayed fine. I don't have any issues opening gfx files directly, the problem is with certain gfx not displaying within certain apps, like some kind of link is broken(?). Look at the screen grab, bottom left you can see problem in AVG.
