Very old post, but if I recall correctly 280X is a "dual-GPU" in a single physical card... so it's kind of Cross Fire GPU. I would not buy any dual-card GPUs anymore due to lack of support in Cross Fire by games.

Did you buy this yet? How much is it showing for you. I'm seeing $230. For that price you can get the recently released 1660.

What? You need to brush up on yer googling mate.
A 280x is the same card as a 7970ghz edition.
